Robert John Raymond "Bob" Dickenson
Date Of Birth: December 21 1939, Bob was one of 13 Children
Hometown: Cornwall, ON
Bob would begin racing in the early 60's at the Gadbois race track. Then on Sundays at Maxville Fairgrounds in the afternoons & Fort Covington, NY in the evenings, often racing at both tracks in the same day!
Bob loved racing cars and winning races.
During the winter, he stayed active playing broomball.
Bob tragically lost his life on the opening day of the Maxville Fair, June 19th 1969 during a stock car race at the young age of 29, 3 weeks before celebrating his 2 year wedding anniversary.

Growing up I had pictures of Poppy's race car and stories passed down to me by my uncle that Poppy raced at Maxville with a driver named 'Red' & stopped racing after a driver was involved in a fatal accident.
Discovering Bob's story and learning about him from those who loved him has been a very humbling and emotional experience for me.
