Men's Mental Health Discussion on Suicide and Suicide Prevention
We took part in a podcast hosted by Men4MentalHealth & Coach Acie Tran creator of the unMANly podcast and an experienced advocate for men's mental health. We also joined John Tattersall; a future leader in mens health conversations & Lee Theodore who is known for notable contributions of time, service and collaborations in his community. Extremly lucky and humbled to take part with these community leaders.
The four of us shared an open & impactful conversation about mental health, suicide and suicide prevention.
A Message From Host; Coach Acie
On November 13, 2022 four brave men stepped forward to discuss their mental health. These are the highlights from that discussion on Suicide, Suicide Prevention and Fatherhood in Part II of the panel.
My name is Acie Tran and I’ve been advocating for men’s mental health for 8 years now. I aim to raise awareness to the unique problems men face when it comes to their own concept of masculinity and mental wellbeing.

More From Coach Acie On The Podcast:
My reason for doing this work is that I hope to intervene with men who suffer in silence before their suffering manifests itself into violence either against themselves or to other people.
We’ve seen it too many times, so many lives lost and affected by violence, abuse and suicide and I hope to do my part in shedding light on these issues to better understand and prevent any more heartbreaking stories.
This year in particular, we will be focusing on suicide and suicide prevention and in the second portion of our panel we will be discussing the role of masculinity in society and fatherhood topics such as bullying in schools and generational trauma.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to state that some may find the nature of this conversation triggering due to the heavy subject matter. I just want you to know that you are seen and heard. If you are having thoughts of ideation or know of someone who is having thoughts of ideation please reach out to help by notifying the appropriate authorities and emergency resources in your area.
I also wanted to clarify that neither of us here are licensed psychological professionals, we are just a group of guys speaking courageously and authentically. If you need to reach out to a professional then it is highly recommended that you do so in your unique situation.
