Explain what emotions you felt, was it anger, or sadness?

Taking time to understand why we responded the way we did is how we will identify our Negative Thought Patterns allowing us an opportunity to become better at controlling our emotions.

What did you do after your thought? Was there a negative behavior?
How did your response make you feel? Did you feel guilt, shame, sadness?
IDENTIFYING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
What evidence do you have for your thought? Is there evidence that your thought is not true? What is something that is true?
Is there other information to consider? Is there another way to look at this?
Is there a more positive outcome?
What Negative Thought Pattern do you identify this as?
What is a better thought to have about the situation?
What is a better response to the thought?
MOVING FORWARD
How do you feel about this thought now?
Do you still believe this thought to be true?
Do you think you can identify and work on these negative thoughts when they occur before you feel an emotion from them?
Is there anything you can do to change the outcome of the situation? Has it happened already? Is there any positive actions you can take?
What are you feeling now? Do you still feel the same?
